A committed student-athlete and faith leader, Alex embraced every opportunity at Paul VI to grow both on the field and in his spiritual life.
Alex says his greatest PVI experience was in fall 2025 when the football team won its first championship in 25 years. “This was a very special moment, not just for us players and coaches, but as a school, too. To see how our relentless hard work and dedication paid off in the end made the moment even more surreal, and the joy we were feeling indescribable.”
This sense of growth extends beyond athletics, as Alex also experienced meaningful spiritual development through being an altar server, retreat leader, and leader of the Discipleship Club. These experiences were shaped in large part by the people around him. “We are all called to embark on relationships — most importantly with God — but ultimately, other people. Friendship, one of the greatest ways to encounter God, has been a key part of retreat leadership for me.”
“Along with these roles, attending the Junior Retreat alone created a significant shift in my life. It inspired me to become more devoted to my personal spiritual life with our Lord, which has been the greatest decision of my life.”
For Alex, a focus on discipleship has meant learning to imitate Jesus in every part of life — at home, at school, and on the football field. He reflects, “Something I constantly pray for daily, because each day has its own share of joys and challenges, is ‘Lord, when the world sees me today, I pray they see you.’ Imitating Christ isn't meant to be exclusively for the good times, but the bad as well. Discipleship has been the place of continuously growing in knowledge about myself, and getting to know Jesus on a deeper and personal level.”
Alex credits the PVI community for shaping him in lasting ways. “I have met many incredible friends, teachers, and faculty members who have made drastic impacts in my life, and I am grateful for the continuation of those relationships beyond graduation.”
Looking ahead, Alex will attend the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, Rhode Island, before continuing on to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
“Whether it means continuing to play football, serving in the Navy beyond my service commitment, or even pursuing something completely unknown to me, my biggest goal for the future is to ultimately discover the purpose/vocation I was meant to fulfill and use the talents and opportunities I have been blessed with.”
