Service to Others

Ethan ‘22

PVI has turned me into the person I am today. Whether it is as a son, brother, or friend, I thrive to be the best person I can be. Paul VI has helped me find my spiritual life...Many of the people I have met here have done nothing but uplift and help turn me into the person I am today.
Each Paul VI student serves others so that they may experience Christ firsthand.
By serving others, students grow in maturity and compassion, share our blessings, cultivate generous hearts, and witness the love of Jesus. We show that PVI is committed to serving the community at large. The “image” of PVI in the community should be that of Jesus Himself. It’s our responsibility to show that PVI gives, serves, and loves others, especially those most in need. Service to Others fulfills, in part, the demands of solidarity, which is the justice we owe to one another.

Whether they work with the very young, the very old, the hungry, the sick, or anyone else in need, our student volunteers stretch beyond their comfort zone to make a difference. It is one of the critical ways we live out the Gospel and come
to see Christ in the poor and marginalized.

Some students work with at-risk kids. Some feed the hungry or the homeless. Some students serve as peer mentors in our Options program. Some help in their parish churches. Each student volunteers for a minimum of 20 hours per academic year in the community based on the Service to Others requirements. Students track and record their hours through MobileServe
