  • DIRECTOR OF FINANCE (STAFF, FULL TIME)

    Position Title: Director of Finance
    Reports Directly To: Head of School
     
    Primary responsibilities:
    • Has day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the school. Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions for the school. This includes Student Accounts, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll
    • Has day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing and managing the entire Cafeteria operations including the Manager and 5 cafeteria staff employees
    • Works closely with the Head of School and Principal on all business policies, procedures and overall management decisions. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization
    • Works closely with the diocesan business representatives and corresponding business managers from other diocesan high schools to promote uniformity of policies and procedures across all schools
    • Ensures that effective internal controls are in place for compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and rules for financial reporting
    • Manages and compiles the year end audit with the external audit team. Ensures that record keeping meets the requirement of auditors. Maintains relations with external auditors and investigates their findings and recommendations throughout the fiscal year
    • Prepares the annual school budget and provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Head of School and the School Board in performing their responsibilities. Strives for continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues
    • Serves as a member of the Finance Committee as well as the School Board and prepares the necessary documents to keep these committees informed as to the school’s financial position
    • Complete project management responsibility for the transition and move to the new PVI campus
    • Supervise and evaluate all staff for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of the groups
    • Responsible for maintaining all financial records and reports for student accounts, school activities, student organizations, booster organizations and Advancement (fundraising)
    • Recommends, approves and monitors all capital expenditures. Reviews and approves all purchase orders and deposits
    • Manages the financial aid process including all applicable appeals
    • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Maintain a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash thresholds to meet operating needs
    • Responsible for maintaining the accounting software
    • Provide financial advice and knowledge as needed to the faculty and staff of the school
    • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
    Qualifications:
    • Masters degree in Finance or Accounting and/or 10 years of management level experience in finance, accounting or business management.  
    • CPA preferred
    • Non-Profit accounting background strongly preferred

  • SCHOOL COUNSELOR (FULL TIME)

    St. Paul VI Catholic High School seeks a dynamic, organized, and dedicated high school counselor. School Counselors deliver a full range of student services to include academic and personal advisement and college and career counseling. The candidate must be able to positively engage students, parents, and faculty members in delivering services.

    The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

    Ideal candidates will have a Master's degree in counselor education and must hold or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Experience in college admissions a plus.
