  • HEAD OF SCHOOL

In September 2020, the Saint Paul VI Catholic High School (PVI) community opened its brand new 68-acre campus in Loudoun County, Virginia. From its humble beginnings in 1983 with 350 students and 21 employees in nearby Fairfax, the mission of PVI continues to grow and prosper. Today, nearly 1,100 young men and women call this expansive, state-of-the-art, $78M Chantilly campus home.

When Paul VI opened in 1983 as a diocesan high school, the community was ministered by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales along with lay faculty. The Oblates remained here through 2000. After the canonization of Pope Paul VI in October 2018, the school was renamed St. Paul VI Catholic High School to further honor its patron and namesake. This founding charism continues to permeate all aspects of the PVI culture.

Respected for its challenging academic curriculum, distinguished performance and fine arts programs, outstanding sports, and wide-ranging extracurricular activities, PVI is one of the country's finest college preparatory Catholic high schools. In fact, since 2013, the school community has been recognized by The Cardinal Newman Society as one of the Top 50 Catholic High Schools in the U.S. based on overall excellence in Catholic identity, academic excellence, and civic education.

At PVI, every student is offered the very best in education, no matter how they learn. Through its unique program called PVI Options, students with intellectual and or developmental disabilities access an individualized inclusive, student-centered Catholic education. By promoting the inherent dignity of all human persons, the greater school community carries out its mission by providing all students the means to achieve spiritual, intellectual, personal, social, and physical development according to the teachings of the Gospel and St. Francis de Sales.

The PVI teacher/student ratio is 14-to-1, with an average class size of 24 and a one-to-one student laptop program. The school has 67 Dual Enrollment, AP, and Honors classes and 78 extracurricular activities. Devoted faculty and staff are committed to providing each student with a superior 21st-century education in a traditional Catholic environment. In the words of their patron St. Francis de Sales, they encourage every student to "do ordinary things extraordinarily well."
