Harmony in Community
For Bella, PVI was more than a place to learn; it was a place to grow. Much of her high school experience was shaped by her involvement in the Music Department and Pink & White Club, groups where she found friendship, faith, and a supportive community. Looking back on her four years, she says, “PVI is a place where you'll grow into your own person.”
A dedicated flutist, Bella has played since fourth grade and participated in band all four years at PVI. What began as a childhood activity became something even more meaningful in high school.
“Band class was something I looked forward to every day.” Beyond learning and performing, Bella found a sense of belonging. “School wasn't all just academics anymore. I was able to make some of my best memories through music.”
Some of her favorite memories came in the hours before evening concerts—grabbing bubble tea or donuts, finishing homework, sharing meals, helping each other get ready, and tuning their instruments together. After performances, there was also the joy and satisfaction of seeing months of preparation pay off.
“It's nice to see all our hard work come together. I look forward to sharing the gift of music with my friends and family.”
Bella’s dedication and talent earned her selection to All-District Band three out of her four years in high school. Music also helped her grow personally.
“Music helped me build my confidence. Just knowing that when I'm playing in a band, I'm playing in a community and that there are people there to support me — that made a difference.”
Bella credits the close bonds among band members for strengthening their performances. “We are close and that shows in the way we play our music.”
Bella also found a home in Pink & White Club, where students gathered for prayer, reflection, and service. Through monthly chapel visits, discussions of Scripture, and service projects, she deepened both her faith and her friendships. “I was able to grow closer to people who truly see the good in others and want the best for everyone.”
Her faith grew in other ways at PVI as well. “Having a chapel in the building is one of the best parts about the school. If I’m stressed or worried about something, I was able to go in the chapel anytime and speak to God.”
Reflecting on her experience, Bella describes PVI as both challenging and supportive, where students help one another succeed.
“At PVI, everyone's always looking out for you: administrators, teachers, friends. Everyone has your back and you’ll find your people and your community.”
As she prepares for her next chapter, Bella will carry with her the friendships, faith, and confidence that defined her PVI experience. She will attend the University of Notre Dame and plans to major in business.
