Update Regarding Head of School

Dear PVI Community,
Dr. Matthew Powell has withdrawn his name from consideration for the position of head of school at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly. The Diocese of Arlington is resuming its search for a successor to Virginia “Ginny” D. Colwell, who is retiring after 29 years at St. Paul VI, including 16 years in leadership.
St. Paul VI has a reputation for meeting the highest standards of educational excellence, rooted in our Catholic faith. This reputation enables us to draw national talent to serve at all levels within the school, thus the recent search for head of school yielded many qualified individuals. We remain fully committed to identifying a leader who will build upon the school’s tradition of excellence.
Please know that you will receive an update once we have finalized this process. Together, may “we grow in grace and wisdom,” as St. Paul VI’s motto encourages us to strive.
In Christ,
Joseph E. Vorbach III, PhD, MEd
Superintendent of Schools
