Dr. David Campbell

Dr. David Campbell teaches social studies.
Dr. Campbell is from Philadelphia and attended Dickinson College, Princeton Theological Seminary, University of Edinburgh and Columbia Theological Seminary. He holds two master’s degrees, one in Divinity and another in Theology, as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Before PVI, Dr. Campbell worked for Fairfax County Public Schools and he was a Presbyterian pastor before converting to Catholicism. In his spare time, he makes rosaries and spends time with his grandchildren. His favorite saint is St. John Paul II.

His favorite lesson to teach is U.S. history, 1800-1860. “It was a period of intense innovation and improvement, as well as a time of failure to solve the most intense of our national problems, much like today.”

He says that his favorite thing about PVI is: “I can be a Catholic out loud.”
