Academic Support Programs

Academic Center for Excellence (ACE)

The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) provides educational support for students who may experience difficulty with the transition to high school or with the demands of a college preparatory curriculum. 

Students in the ACE program will:
  • meet with ACE instructors daily during their scheduled study period
  • receive individual and small-group instruction emphasizing reading, writing, and math skills
  • be coached toward improving organizational skills and study strategies
There is a one-time registration fee, as well as extra tuition per semester for the ACE program.

DeSales Learning Center (DeSales)

The DeSales Learning Center provides specialized tutorial support to students who have a diagnosed learning disability. In this program, experienced teachers provide dedicated individual or small-group instruction and closely monitor students' work.

Students in the DeSales program will:
  • attend the program daily during their study hall period
  • receive personalized instruction and coaching within the context of their individual course loads
  • be encouraged to develop strong time management and study techniques  
There is a one-time registration fee, as well as annual program fees in addition to base tuition.

Concerning Accommodations:

Please reach out to Mrs. Kathyrn Virusky to coordinate student assistance plans and accommodations at Paul VI. You do not need to be enrolled in one of our academic support programs to receive accommodations.

Mrs. Tina Roller will serve as the SSD coordinator for SAT, ACT, and PSAT accommodations. The College Board and ACT require you to apply separately for accommodations on those tests. Please start the process of securing accommodations early.
