Service to Others

Ethan ‘22

PVI has turned me into the person I am today. Whether it is as a son, brother, or friend, I thrive to be the best person I can be. Paul VI has helped me find my spiritual life...Many of the people I have met here have done nothing but uplift and help turn me into the person I am today.
Each Paul VI student serves others so that they may experience Christ firsthand.
St. Paul VI Catholic High School is committed to graduating responsible, moral, service-oriented young adults who will continue to “grow in grace and wisdom."

So close is Jesus to the poor, needy, and vulnerable that He says “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). When we serve those most in need: the poor, hungry, sick, elderly, homeless, and children we are truly serving the Body of Christ as Jesus served His people. The face of PVI in the community should be the face of Jesus Himself. Service to Others fulfills, in part, the demands of Christian solidarity, which is the love we owe to one another.

Service to Others is a requirement for all our students at St. Paul VI Catholic High School. Each of us has something precious to share with our PVI family and community at large. As we serve, we grow in compassion for others and are grateful for our blessings. We come to value family and community through service. Service to Others makes us more forgiving, which leads to better relationships and a happier life.

Each student at PVI completes at least 20 hours of service each academic year based on the Service to Others requirements. Some students work with at-risk kids. Some feed the hungry or the homeless. Some students serve as peer mentors in our Options program. Some help in their parish churches. Students track and record their hours through MobileServe. Students can review a list of organizations in myPVI or speak with the Campus Ministry department if they wish to serve with an organization that is not on the pre-approved list.
