2021-22 School Health Mitigation Plan

Our administration, with feedback from our COVID Concerns Committee, has finalized our reopening plan for the 2021-22 school year with the following objectives in mind:
  • To reopen the school to 100% of students with no virtual learning or hybrid model in place.
  • To ensure the safety of all our students, faculty and staff
  • To foster an environment that allows our students to thrive academically, spiritually and socially.
I invite you to review our complete 2021-22 School Health Mitigation Plan and note the following highlights I want to call attention to:
  • Mask wearing: In compliance with the order from the VA State Health Commissioner, all students, faculty, staff and visitors are required to wear masks when indoors on PVI property regardless of vaccination status. Masking will also be required of all individuals on buses, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Ventilation: We will continue to make use of upgraded HVAC filters and have added ventilation in certain areas, such as the locker rooms.
  • Sanitizing and hand washing: We will continue to promote hand washing throughout the day and ensure we are sanitizing surfaces after each class.
  • Distancing: We are keeping the distancing reminders throughout the school and have the shields for use in classrooms where distancing is not possible.
  • Vaccinations: Based on our survey, over 60% of our students are fully vaccinated currently and we partner with the Diocese in encouraging the COVID-19 vaccination for those who choose to receive it. However, we do not and will not require vaccination.
  • Screening and watching for symptoms: We are asking all families to review this screening questionnaire and watch daily for symptoms. We will not be sending a daily screening to staff and faculty, but I ask that you do the same with checking for symptoms. If there are any symptoms, you are encouraged to be tested and quarantine if necessary.
As always, thank you for your understanding and support in helping all our students to Grow in Grace and Wisdom as safely as possible.

Sincerely,
Ginny Colwell
