Mr. Tom Burkat

Mr. Tom Burkat is an Engineering teacher.
Mr. Burkat is from Rochester, New York and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s in Engineering and was previously Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of an engineering company.

“The lesson of the Six Simple Machines is fun for me because the lecture includes a lot of props and tools that makes the math and engineering real for students. It's also the time when students are faced with a very challenging project in my class and seeing their resilience and dedication really inspires me to find ways to be a better teacher than the day before,” he shares.

Mr. Burkat’s favorite saint is St. John Paul II and his favorite quote is from Albert Einstein: "I, at any rate, am convinced that He [God] does not throw dice." On weekend mornings, Mr. Burkat enjoys watching the English Premier League.

“At PVI, I love that we can gather as a community of students and teachers, any day, to participate in the celebration of Mass in a chapel that is always just steps away from where you are.”
