Mrs. Leydi Yerks Giraldo

Mrs. Leydi Yerks Giraldo is a Spanish teacher.
Mrs. Yerks is originally from Colombia and attended Escuela Normal Superior del Quindío and the American College of Education, where she studied Education. She previously worked at Colegio Juan Pablo II in Colombia.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, and traveling. Her favorite saint is St. Francis of Assisi and her favorite quote is “Que no se pase la vida esperando tiempos mejores,” (Don't spend your life waiting for better times). She is pictured with her husband Kevin.

“I like to teach the verbs in Spanish because it is my first language and there are many fun activities that can be done with the students,” she shares.

As a new teacher this year, she says: “I like the camaraderie and union shared by all the staff.”
