Campus Ministry

Catholic Retreats

We take time to reflect, which draws us closer to God, to ourselves, and to each other.
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” Mark 6:31

Central to our mission is the formation of the whole child in the light of Christ’s love and truth. To that end, we give our students opportunities to keep their hearts open to God and develop a strong, lively, and personal prayer life. In addition to Mass and devotions, Campus Ministry offers retreats and days of reflection that help students to take a break from their hectic schedules to be renewed with the clarity and vigor of God’s grace.

Participation in Freshman and Sophomore "Live Jesus Days" are a requirement for advancement to the next grade level at PVI. These days are designed for students to step away from academics and grow as a class by allowing them time to pray and reflect. Students will attend as a class on the day noted in the academic calendar.

All students are required to make an overnight weekend retreat in their junior year as a prerequisite for senior year. This is known as the “Junior Retreat.” Sign-ups for the junior retreats take place the summer before the academic year in which they make their junior retreat.

Maggie, Class of 2017

My retreat was a breath of fresh air and a chance to encounter God’s unconditional love. High school can be so stressful and it demands so much from you. My retreat reminded me that there is hope and that I can find peace with God.
