Applying for Grants
All students must submit a financial assistance application to be considered for grants. Completion requires various steps:
Applications are submitted to a third-party vendor, FACTS, which conducts an independent evaluation. Apply for assistance
After completing the application, you must send the substantiating documentation to FACTS. No application will be reviewed or given consideration until all supporting documentation has been submitted.
The Financial Assistance Committee at PVI receives the evaluation and makes decisions concerning the allocation of funds.
Paul VI and the Financial Assistance Committee understand that not all family circumstances can be conveyed in the assistance application.
If you wish to appeal an assistance decision, your first step is to send an email (preferred) or a letter explaining your family circumstances. The Financial Assistance Committee meets regularly to review appeals.
Financial Assistance Timeline
The financial assistance application should be submitted at the same time as the application to the school.
The application process begins each November for the upcoming school year (e.g., November 2022 for the 2023-2024 school year).
The Office of Catholic Schools determines the application deadline date. To be considered in the first round of decisions, applications must be received by that date.
The deadline is prior to the freshman acceptance letters being mailed. If you have an incoming student and will need financial assistance, we suggest you apply for financial assistance prior to your acceptance.
Awards for the incoming freshman class are mailed at the same time as the acceptance letters. All other awards notifications are mailed by the end of May.
Families must reapply each year.
Award amounts can vary from year to year and continued assistance cannot be guaranteed.
If you have students in other diocesan schools, you only need apply one time. Please list all students and schools on the application. This is easier for you and allows the diocese to see your family’s complete situation.
